The anthropic principle and the mass scale of the Standard Model

    Get PDF
In theories in which different regions of the universe can have different values of the the physical parameters, we would naturally find ourselves in a region which has parameters favorable for life. We explore the range of anthropically allowed values of the mass parameter in the Higgs potential, μ2\mu^2. For μ2<0\mu^2<0, the requirement that complex elements be formed suggests that the Higgs vacuum expectation value vv must have a magnitude less than 5 times its observed value. For μ2>0\mu^2>0, baryon stability requires that μ<<MP|\mu|<<M_P, the Planck Mass. Smaller values of μ2|\mu^2| may or may not be allowed depending on issues of element synthesis and stellar evolution. We conclude that the observed value of μ2\mu^2 is reasonably typical of the anthropically allowed range, and that anthropic arguments provide a plausible explanation for the closeness of the QCD scale and the weak scale.Comment: 28 pages, LaTeX. Preparing Generic Spiral Structure using Optimized Design Parameters

In this paper, frequency reconfigurable spiral patch antenna is designed. Frequency reconfiguration is achieved by changing the electrical length of antenna with the help of PIN diode switch. Design parameters of spiral antenna are optimized to get improved results. After that, a generic spiral structure is designed using these optimized values. This will reduce complexity and simulation time. Now, there is no need to redesign spiral structure for different values of design parameters. Just have to put values of parameter in their respective variable and this generic structure will be converted to desired structure. This will reduce design complexity and simulation time

High frequency occurrence of single cotyledonary embryo morphotype and repetitive somatic embryogenesis in ‘Thompson Seedless’ crossed with seven grapevine male parents

Direct somatic embryogenesis was observed in zygotic embryos rescued from intra- and inter-specific crosses between ‘Thompson Seedless’ and seven male parents of grapevine when the embryos were cultured on Woody Plant Medium (WPM) supplemented with benzyladenine (1 μM). Repetitive somatic embryogenesis occurred on the same medium, which also supported a high percentage of embryo maturation, germination and plantlet development. The cultures retained embryogenic potential for more than two years. We observed a high frequency occurrence of monocotyledonous embryo morphotype and other morphological variations in somatic embryos of all the crosses. The percentage of embryos having mono-, di-, tri-, multiple and abnormal cotyledons varied among the crosses. The overall percentage of monocot embryos was 35.50 %, as against 38.64 % of dicot embryos, while the germination rates for mono- and dicot- embryos were 24.44 % and 24.15 %, respectively. Shoot development was poor in tri- and multiple-cotyledonary embryos, while there was no shoot formation in abnormal embryos. We assume that the relatively high occurrence of single cotyledonary morphotype may be due to the repetitive exposure of embryogenic tissues to a medium containing benzyladenine

Enforcing recommendation in Social networks By user interests

    Get PDF
It is a human tendency to get others opinion before doing something, this we can see much more in friends circle. As the internet spreads over the world it interferes much more in our daily life, for example applications like Facebook and whatsup becomes the inseparable part of internet savvy peoples. So it is obvious that most of the users search their friends based on their taste or keywords using the recommendation system. Many recommendation systems are existed which provides the recommendation by capturing users taste or profile data in the social networking site. This paper put forwards an idea of creating recommendation system based on the collected user comment data from the social networking site pages using an efficient web crawler. This method enhances to get the recommendation from many social networking sites in a given instance. This makes the system as an independent adaptive model which can be easily apply on many social networking sites to get user recommendation for the given query. System strongly empowered by the well grained NLP protocols with fuzzy classification approach. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15084

Ginzburg-Landau equation bound to the metal-dielectric interface and transverse nonlinear optics with amplified plasmon polaritons

Using a multiple-scale asymptotic approach, we have derived the complex cubic Ginzburg-Landau equation for amplified and nonlinearly saturated surface plasmon polaritons propagating and diffracting along a metal-dielectric interface. An important feature of our method is that it explicitly accounts for nonlinear terms in the boundary conditions, which are critical for a correct description of nonlinear surface waves. Using our model we have analyzed filamentation and discussed bright and dark spatially localized structures of plasmons.Comment: http://link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/PhysRevA.81.03385

More Signatures of the Intermediate Mass Higgs Boson

We examine the potential signatures of the Higgs boson when it decays into a tau-lepton pair. We show that with the proper identification of the tau-jet, this decay mode can lead to the identification of the Higgs boson over most of the intermediate mass range (\mW << \mH << 2 \mW).Comment: 10 pages, LaTeX fil
